In a 2006 version of the 18th century gold rush…
AOL’s whipping out the bulldozers and suiting up the geologists to go after what is reported to be gold and platinum bars buried on an internet spammer parent’s property...
The family says they know nothing about any gold or platinum.
"I don't care if they dig up the entire yard. They're just going to make fools of themselves,"said Hawke's mother. "There's absolutely no reason for them to think that Davis Hawke would be stupid enough to bury gold on our property. My son is long gone."
Apparently the spammer (Davis Hawke), of which AOL won a lawsuit against valued at 12.8 million, primarily because Hawke never showed up to the court proceedings, purchased gold and platinum as per receipts that AOL showed the judge in order to obtain the approval for the expedition.
If they isn’t something right out of a James Bond film; big companies, evil spammers, long arm of the law, gold and platinum bars and treasure hunting, then I don’t know what is.
